As we strive to move towards a cleaner, greener, electric future, there are difficult challenges for all industry sectors to overcome.
The ideals of a truly circular economy will only be realised if each element, including repair, reuse and recycling is commercial and viable. A great deal of effort needs to be made by everyone throughout the lifecycle of a manufactured product in order for this to be realised.
This includes support from national and local governments to actively encourage change, to help with implementation through grant funding and where necessary, changes to UK law.
Repair, Repurpose and Recycle. This should be uppermost in the design and manufacturing of all products. Engineers, designers, manufacturers, and end-users must re-think the way products are conceived, delivered and utilised. They must consider second use, ease of repair, servicing and beyond. Of course, we are especially interested in Lithium Battery powered products.
